This 19" yo-yo Christmas tree was made on a styrofoam base and contains 60 yo-yo's . The yo-yo's were made from a variety of fabrics. The base of the tree is a repurposed crystal candlestick holder.
Here are two of my newly created 20" long newspaper stockings. These were made from pages torn from the Arizona Republic Newspaper. First, the newspaper pages were fused to woven interfacing. I then traced a stocking pattern on to the fused newspaper and stitched the traced line with black thread. Once stitching was completed, each stocking was trimmed with an Olfa Wave Rotary Cutter. The ruffles were made from coffee-dyed cheese cloth and the cuffs of the stockings are strips of upholstery webbing. The hanging loops and bows were made from strips of coffee-dyed muslin, each embellished with a button. The stockings were then rubber stamped with black ink and distressed with Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink (walnut stain). These stockings are surprisingly durable and make a wonderful giftwrap for small flat gifts and gift cards.
